Created by Katia Youssef as an homage to her ancestors and the women in her present, Iusef draws on stories of powerful women to create jewellery and sculpture that act as portals to alternate worlds, altered mindsets, and alter egos.
The Anath series takes its name from the Canaanite goddess of war and fertility. Exploring themes of descent, return, and renewal, it draws on the cyclical nature of myth: the passage between worlds and the promise of spring. It is a meditation on persistence, transformation, and the possibility of returning to oneself, changed.
